Barbara Rowe has an MFA in printmaking from University of Massachusetts at Amherst. She uses traditional and digital processes in prints and drawings and her artwork is in numerous collections, including the Frans Masreel Center in Belgium, the Art Institute of Chicago, Castellani Museum, and the Albright-Knox Art Gallery. She is a professor of Fine Arts at Niagara County Community College where she teaches design and drawing.

Barbara purchased an existing screenprinting business, Design Diva, in 1995 and faced a steep learning curve about commercial printing and owning a business. The previous owner, Andy Metalliano, patiently trained her in many aspects of commercial printing. Workshops at RIT and through SGIA (Specialty Graphic Imaging Association) helped the learning process. Other business owners have been gracious mentors over the years helping Abaca Press to grow and define its niche in specialty screenprinting.
